Adrian Shrinner chose to replace Graham strangeness as Brisbane Lord Mayor

Brisbane Deputy Mayor Adrian Shrinner was chosen as the new lord mayor of the city after the announcement of strangeness Graham last week that he would be stepping down from the top job.

He was appointed to the role of LDL in the party room meeting this afternoon.

Finance chair Cr Christy Adams became deputy mayor.

"Brisbane is in my blood and I can not think of a greater honor than to be lord mayor of Brisbane," the Lord Mayor said elected.

"As Lord Mayor, my focus will be on the other, making sure to Brisbane tomorrow better than today in Brisbane."

"People Brisbane deserve a stable, responsible leadership and with this team, and with them they will continue to receive it."

Output Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said the city remains in "very good hands."

"[Cr Schrinner’s] was a loyal, stable, durable, and it will provide a great guide to the city to go forward, "he said.

Cr Schrinner also announced five new green bridges will be built in Bellbowrie, Kangaroo Point in the city Breakfast Creek and two in the West End, to connect to St. Lucia and Toowong.

Cr Schrinner and Cr Adams will be officially sworn into their new role in the Monday, April 8.

Lord Mayor Quirk announced on Friday that he had left the top job next week, eight years to the day when he was succeeded by Campbell Newman.

Cr Schrinner served as an advisor to Chandler Ward since 2005 and with the & # 39 is the deputy mayor in 2011.

Chandler Ward, including in the suburb of Burbank, Carindale, Chandler, Gumdale, Mackenzie, and Mansfield.
