The new theory suggests that the moon may be formed after Mars size rock encountered with newborn Earth, when it has been covered in molten rock.
Giant Impact Hypothesis
A popular theory known as «Giant Impact hypothesis" suggests that the moon formed as a result of collision of two protoplanets.
One of the two on the & # 39 objects was a young Earth, and the second was a giant rock called Theia. The moon is said to have formed from debris impacts.
New evidence now to challenge ideas. Computer model scenarios show that more than 60 percent of the moon should consist of material from Theia. The researchers, however, found no evidence of chemical fingerprint Theia to the moon.
