The income of the CEZ energy group in the complex energy service segment (ESCO) grew from three to 9.4 billion crowns in the first nine months of this year. ČTK said CEZ spokesman Roman Gazdík. He did not mention the amount of profit. CEZ ESCO subsidiary revenues, operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, grew almost 30 percent year-on-year to CZK 3.3 billion. In addition to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, CEZ operates at ESCO also in Germany, Poland and Romania.
The largest sales volume in this segment now includes subsidiaries in Germany, where CEZ owns the Elevion group, which focuses primarily on supply and installation work for industrial and administrative buildings, and Kofler Energies, which primarily designs similar projects.
In Poland, the CEZ CECO subsidiary ESCO Polska, Metrolog and OEM Energy are involved in this service. In Romania, CEZ ESCO Romania and High Tech Clima, which were recently acquired by CEZ.
"Germany is Europe's modern energy driver and the largest ESCO market in Europe. It is also the largest sales contributor in the CEZ Group ESCO segment. Our total sales volume in the ESCO sector accounts for around half of the German market," stated ČEZ CEO and Pavel Cyrani, Director of Sales and Strategy Division.
CEZ ESCO CEO Kamil Cermak added that the company was increasingly interested in its services.
"The economy is developing and companies are investing in actions to help them reduce energy costs, stabilize them, and therefore prepare themselves well for the future." he added.
For example, in Poland CEZ is aware of these projects for nearly two billion crowns. This includes, for example, projects for heat management renovations, the deployment of decentralized energy sources or the modernization of public lighting. According to CEZ, the growth in the energy saving segment is estimated at 16 percent per year.
"Increasing electricity prices is a big challenge for the industry and energy-intensive opportunities to offer comprehensive solutions to provide the biggest savings for customers" said CEO of CEZ ESCO Polska Jaromír Pečonka.
The ESCO (Energy Service Company) focuses on the complex energy needs of companies, municipalities and institutions, securing commodity supplies, energy audits and energy consultations, external heat and electricity supply, or construction of cogeneration units and installation of photovoltaic power plants. He is also a supplier of services related to public and corporate electromobility.
ESCO services are being developed at CEZ by two teams belonging to the Trading and Strategy Division: CEZ ESCO and International ESCO. CEZ ESCO has more than 1,800 employees and focuses on the Czech and Slovak markets.
Under ESCO International, CEZ's subsidiaries include ESCO Polska, CEZ ESCO Romania, Elevion, High Tech Clima, Kofler, Metrolog, and OEM Solar. It has more than 2,000 employees.
CEZ Group's revenue for the three quarters of this year reached CZK 129.3 billion. According to the new accounting methodology, it grew four percent year on year, according to the previous one, it was lower by 12 percent.
