In a press statement, the ministry said African leaders were expected to discuss the need to reform the AU Commission, to make the continental body more effective in meeting the needs of its 55 member countries and to enable the AU to face regional and international affairs. challenge.
In particular, leaders are expected to discuss progress in meeting the objectives of continental economic and political integration as outlined in the 2063 AU Agenda.
The extraordinary summit will be preceded by a meeting of senior ministers from 55 AU member states, on November 14-15, which are expected to set the agenda for the summit.
