AC Milan lost second place in Group D. Gennaro Gattuso's team came to visit Real Betis no more than a draw (1-1) and therefore saw Olympiakos outperform them. In Greece, Luxembourg F91 Dudelange was finished with a painful number (5-1), even though it was a historic night for them. They scored their first European goal in the main tournament.
Real Betis – AC Milan 1-1
After a victory at Milan two weeks ago, the Spanish team also had a better game against AC Milan at home. The visitors with Patrick Cutrone, Fabio Borini and Hakan Calhanoglu on the base did not get a foot on the ground and had to watch like Giovani Lo Celso after twelve minutes at the end of the attack running smoothly, formed by Cristian Tello. The formation of Gattuso certainly could not complain that it was only 1-0 in the first round, because number fourteen of the Primera Division was clearly above the wind.
In the second half, visitors became stronger. Suso first shot from the right into the top corner, which was stopped by guard Pau López. He had no chance when he was allowed to build from a free kick from the same angle. The intended effort was a falling motion in the second post after one hour. In the final phase, Milan faced several cases of injury, Mateo Musacchio and Hakan Calhanoglu meosten changed late, so the final attack did not materialize.
Olympiakos – F91 Dudelange 5-1
Dudelange F91 football week ended badly this week. Whether the team has several matches long before zero, that certainly doesn't happen in Greece. After more than half an hour of play, the scoreboard has scored four goals for the home side: Vasilis Torosidis, Konstantinos Fortounis, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos and again Fortounis scored the goal scorer. But it was a historic night for the visitors: Danel Sinani made the first goal ever to represent the Luxembourg club at the main European event. Ahmed Mahgoub returned everything to the track a minute later and set the final score to be 5-1, but that was a minor problem for gsaten.
