The National Electoral Jury (JNE) delivered a mandate to the Metropolitan Mayor of Lima, Jorge Muoz Wells, who was elected to carry out the position in the regional and municipal elections on 7 October.
The document will be presented at a public ceremony, which will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., in the auditorium of the electoral headquarters at Jess Mara (Jirn Nazca 598).
According to the General Proclamation of Results Act, issued by the Special Judges for the Election of Lima Centro, Muoz Wells, from the Popular Action, obtained 1 907 693 valid votes (36.03%), which represented the highest vote obtained by the candidates for the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima.
This handover occurred after the proclamation of the elections mentioned earlier in this jurisdiction was granted, stating that there was no appeal filed by Podemos por el Progreso del Peru, which refused the number of council members to be distributed to political organizations. (Peru21)
