Adidas will transform plastic in the oceans 11 million shoe
Brand began to produce models with this type of material in 2017, but is now planning to double the production.
2017 Adidas appealed to the sustainable way to the creation of models of footwear made of plastic, occurring in the oceans. This week, the German brand has announced that it wants to double this production, and aims to reach 11 million pairs in 2019.
According to the «Daily News», Eric Liedtke, a member of the executive board of Adidas, said it was a measure that satisfies consumers who are more concerned about environmental issues and what they buy.
Over the past two years, Adidas has sold six million of shoes, made of plastic, Since 2016 the brand is working in collaboration with the PARL for the oceans, environmental non-governmental organizations and non-profit.
There is even a line of the brand created by this movement. Here you will find t-shirts from 24,95 €, swimwear from 34,95 € or sneakers from 111,95 €.
Another of the goals is that by 2024 all the plastic used in their products comes from recycling. Each sneaker comes need, for example, 11 bottles will be completed.
