MOSCOW, 8 November. / Tass /. CSKA Moscow failed to take revenge for the defeat of Italian guest "Roma" in the fourth round match of the European League group stage, losing a score of 1: 2. The meeting was held at the Moscow Luzhniki Stadium in front of 64,454 spectators.

Even before the start of the Champions League preliminary round, it was known that CSKA will hold home matches with Real, Roma and Victoria not at VEB-Arena, but at the Luzhniki stadium. Because of this, the club is able to increase the presence of the game significantly. In the "Real" match attended by 71,811 spectators. The Army Club takes care of their fans, giving them the opportunity to spoil themselves by enjoying hot tea and red wine.

In the first three matches of the group stage, CSKA played a draw with "Victoria" (2: 2), defeated Madrid "Real" (1: 0) and lost to "Roma" (0: 3). CSKA came into the second circle in third place at the table, behind Roma and Real Madrid with two points.

Due to injury, midfielders Christianvivichch, Alan Dzagoev, Konstantin Kuchayev and Alexander Makarov, striker Abel Hernandez, and defender Viktor Vasin could not help CSKA. But the main goalkeeper and captain Igor Akinfeev returned to the team, missing out on the match in Rome because of the elimination obtained at home with Real.

CSKA shows a good game

The match began for CSKA to fail. In the fifth minute of the meeting, the army failed to score after a corner, and three minutes later, defender Mario Fernandez left the field on a stretcher. Georgy Shchennikov, who came on to replace him, took the place of left back, and Ivan Oblyakov was moved to the position of Brazil. After the match, agent Fernandez Jorge Mendes told TASS that the player had a concussion and nothing was known about his recovery.

"Roma" had a good chance of doubling results, but the Italian soccer player went one on one with Akinfeev, pressing weak and right into the hands of the army goalkeeper. After all the rebuilding, CSKA took the initiative and created some good moments at the gate of "Rome". The most obvious opportunity to excel was at Schennikov, when he couldn't get his head into the goal which was almost empty from close range.

CSKA scored six minutes after the break. Ilzat Akhmetov passed the ball into the box at Arnor Sigurdsson, Iceland was the first to touch the ball, and the second just shot past goalkeeper Robin Olsen. However, after five minutes for the second yellow card, CSKA center-back Nordur Magnusson was sent off. "Rome" immediately took advantage of numerical superiority and once again stepped forward.

Lorenzo Pellegrini was left alone in the CSKA penalty area and beat Akinfeev. Viktor Goncharenko at that time did not have time to release defender Nikita Chernov to the far position of Magnusson. The soccer player is not in the warm-up zone before the red card and at the moment the goal is just preparing to appear on the field. In the future, the army team has a good trip to other people's goals, even playing in the minority, but Goncharenko's team does not have enough in the final stages.

"It's great we managed to score quickly. CSKA showed themselves from the best side, omission helped us, but it happened because we often attacked," said Italian team head Eusebio Di Francesco after the match.

CSKA President Yevgeny Giner called the defeat of the army unfit, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets complained about the failure, noting the Russian club's good game. Solidarity with them is Sigurdsson, who scored the first goal with CSKA. The soccer player noted that the army had more possession and had more chances to score.

CSKA makes the task of leaving the group difficult

In other matches the "Real" group on the road beat "Victoria" with a score of 5: 0. Thus, after four rounds, Real and Roma each got 9 points, CSKA – 4, and Victoria – 1.

In terms of a win over CSKA "Roma" will go to a clean second place in Group G. After defeat, the Goncharenko ward almost lost their chance to reach the Champions League 1/8 final. To do this, CSKA had to beat Victoria in his field, and in the last round match in Madrid to win "Real". The Spanish team, in turn, may not lose the away match, "Roma".

After winning two wins, CSKA will be able to take second place also in the case of two defeats from "Roma" – at home from Real Madrid and far from Victoria. When asked by reporters whether Giner had the opportunity for his team to reach the Champions League playoffs, he replied: "There is always a chance."

In the next round, on November 27, CSKA will face Victoria, Moscow and Roma will play at home with Real on the same day.
