Kaolack, November 17 (APS) – More than 600 police and firefighters will be deployed at Kaolack as part of Maouloud's night-to-day celebrations, especially in the religious city of Madinah Baye, APS learned. from safe sources Saturday.

"As usual, the National Police have placed a large device in Madinah Baye for security protection against Gamou," including the APS, Captain Babacar Diop, city commander of the central police station in Kaolack.

500 police elements will be deployed in the field to ensure the safety of the pilgrims, while the road to the city from Tambacounda, Dakar, Ziguinchor and Diourbel will be watched by police officers, detailing Captain Diop.

He also announced the establishment of a neuralgic unit to facilitate circulation around the Great Mosque of Madinah Baye stating the pedestrian zone on Gamou's occasion. According to him, elements from Dakar and Thi├Ęs will come to support this device.

For its part, the Kaolack Fire Brigade will mobilize 105 elements and deploy seven ambulances at strategic points, including Medina Baye, Gnadiaye and Ndoffane, said Captain Arona Diallo.

This system will also be strengthened by the deployment of four fire engines, two zodiacs including the port of Kaolack and Fatick.

The national Gendarmerie was not abandoned by the establishment of devices articulated around the control of the Fatick-Gandiaye-Kaolack road, as well as connecting the Passy region at the intersection of National Routes 4 and 5.
