Girl, 17, racially abused and spat on a teenage tram


Police refers to the information after a teenager was racially abused and spat at a stranger on the tram.

Girl, 17, were traveling in the direction of the Oldham Manchester Victoria Station, when young male held a "horrible and unprovoked attack."

He first encountered the mother, before turning his attention to a teenager, when she tried to intervene, said a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police.

The boy then racially abused her and spat on it before it got out of the tram with a group of teenagers he was traveling with at the bus stop Newton Heath and Moston.

He was described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches, in his mid-teens with afro style haircut.

Police say he was wearing a black hooded top with a hat under the hood.

The strength now beginning to investigate hate crimes after the incident occurred on March 30, shortly after 6:30 pm.

Chief Inspector Denise Pye, from Manchester GMP division, said: "It was horrible and unprovoked attack on seven & # 39; pits, which enjoyed a Saturday night together before being subjected to a barrage of racial hatred.
